Sorry, I just saw this comment. God to me is more than just a word or something out there that I follow by faith. But God is real to me. God is there in the form of the Holy Spirit to guide me in life and give me wisdom for the day. He is not just a figment in my mind, but close to me and is my spiritual Father.

God sent His son, Jesus, to take my place, died spiritually in my place do that I could know God both here on Earth and after I leave this body.

To anyone who does not know my God, that probably sounds crazy… But since my God will ever be faithful to me, let me be ever faithful to Him.

Hey you guys.
I can’t help but be saddened by this post because I know you both love God and His word, and I strongly believe that this show goes against everything His word stands for. In the clip you posted there is a transvestite (or at least a cross-dresser) which is definitely not Biblical and is an abomination to God. I read the Plugged In tv review on this show and it said that it is a foul show filled with crude sexual jokes, stereotypes, lust, and occasionally mocks God and uses His name in vain. I love you guys and as your sister in Christ I believe this show is counter-productive to everything we stand for as believers and besides, we can be using our time and gifts for so much more. Here’s and exert from the above mentioned review:
“The show’s juvenile vibe extends to its preoccupation with sex. The very first scene of the pilot takes place in a sperm bank. Penny and other female characters wear low-cut tops and short shorts, and Penny isn’t shy about parading around in a towel. Rajesh, uncomfortable speaking to girls, learns that he functions much better if he gets his brain lubed by liberal doses of booze.

This comedy also dabbles in low-grade swearing and inappropriate uses of God’s name. A few profanities come from Sheldon’s mother, who appears in one episode in the unflattering guise of what Lorre (the writer/creator) must consider a standard Bible-belt Christian.”

I agree. the craft is important adn it does help lead people into the presence of God… but more than anything, I believe that first adn foremost they should work on getting into the presence of God and allow the Holy Spirit to move people (who are willing and open) to the place that they should be — in his presence worshipping him with a joyful noise.

Just as a side thought, and I know that you know this, but the Bible calls us to sing with a joyful noise, not a amazing sounding noise. Not that we should not help get the craft of singing better, but our craft of worship should be of the foremost importance.

I would love like to see Christians to take our singing and playing craft more seriously. We seem to have fallen in to a rut of “campfire music / singing” and though there is nothing wrong with that (for people 16 and under) this seems to keep getting spoon-fed to the church as “great modern worship.” Paul said when I was a child I spoke as a child I reasoned as a child etc. but when I became older, I put away childish things.” I wish we could do that. Also: David played skillfully before the Lord. Old testament singers & musicians were hand picked by by their talents first and then weeded out by their dedication to God (because they had so many people “trying out” that were skillful, they could afford to do that). Nowadays what we do is we pull in anyone “who’s heart is right” and leave out the talent part altogether. Paul said to run the race for the victor’s crown. The bible instructs us to study to show ourselves approved. Yes of course it means to study scripture but also to strive for excellence in all we do. I’m not in any way trying to eclipse the holy consecration of one’s self unto our creator in an abject posture of total surrender and holy communion unto our Lord, but I would so love to see the church take God seriously as though they are playing before a King, rather than it be “just good enough.” (PS: and why does it all have to sound like bad Coldplay meets Bad U2?…sorry had to ask)
