]]>Okay, so that isn’t so off the wall when I type it out,… but still! I think of places to eat, and massages, and car oil changes, or even some home repair or carpet cleaning — but not Plastic Surgery! Crazy.
This is the ad that gave me a chuckle. (A pretty add that 105 people already bought — a great deal if you are a change your appearance kind-of-person.) So, if you are due for a face flit, tummy tuck, or non-invasive face transplant (as seen recently in Fort worth as the first successful face transplant), then this plastic surgery deal is for you!
On a side note, I don’t know if this is the last episode with Michael Scott or not. I hope that he is in the show at least a little more this season.
While it is sad that Steve will no longer be on The Office, I think that Will will be a good addition to the cast. Here is a clip of Characters Michael and DeAngelo meeting for the first time.
I can’t believe that it has been 10 years since the beginning of the Office, or at least 10 seasons… Or has it? No… it’s been 7 years? This is the 7th season, so that makes more sense. He had a good run and I hope that he makes a few camios here and there.
The reason in the show that he is leaving is not because of an illness (at least not yet), but because after he gets engaged, he and his fiancée, Holly, decide to move to Colorado; Holly’s parents are not doing well, and she wants to look after them.

]]>For those of you who look at leadership articles periodically like I tend to do, like from some of the greats in good leadership (Tony Morgan, Michael Hyatt, Sam Rainer, & Brandon A. Cox), you may have come across this video.
This video is from Derek Sivers and a speech he gave at the TED Conference earlier this year.
The video contains an important leadership lesson:
A leader needs the guts to stand alone and look ridiculous. But what he’s doing is so simple, it’s almost instructional. This is key. You must be easy to follow!
Now comes the first follower with a crucial role: he publicly shows everyone how to follow. Notice the leader embraces him as an equal, so it’s not about the leader anymore – it’s about them, plural. Notice he’s calling to his friends to join in. It takes guts to be a first follower! You stand out and brave ridicule, yourself. Being a first follower is an under-appreciated form of leadership. The first follower transforms a lone nut into a leader. If the leader is the flint, the first follower is the spark that makes the fire.

Okay, so what do you think? Is this for real or is this just unique art and some fun Photoshop? I am banking on the latter — BUT MAN! the inner kid in me and the dream of flying as a kid REALLY makes me want to believe that it is real.
At least we do know that recently the FAA approved the Terrafugia Flying Car, which look pretty awesome! It will be available next year, and as long as you have a pilot’s license and $194K, you’re good to go!

This is not necessarily a joke, but it is The Big Band Theory, a great show on CBS, now moving to Thursdays in fall 2010 — and the first show begins in about two weeks on September 23.

My wife and i enjoy the show and like streaming shows over Hulu and Netflix, but CBS shows are a little stingy and are VERY concerned about hackers taking their programming and will not stream more than 2 of the past episodes, and with our busy lives we end up missing some shows. — And my wife HATES missing a show and then watching a season with gaps… So, if we get behind, then we are sunk until in comes out on DVD and then it’s impossible to catch up to a regular season.
Anywho, we are looking forward to the upcoming season of many shows, including shows like this, the Big Band Theory.. See more clips from this episode here.

Ok… so I can’t take all of the credit for this quote; It came from the great daily deal gurus at Groupon. If you are looking for some good daily deals in your metro area, Groupon is a great place to start. My wife and I just got a good deal on an oil change, but then they have deals with restaurants, spas, and art lessons.
How Does Groupon work? Basically the deal in your area is new everyday and everyday they give you a deal at a great price, usually 50-90% off the normal price. With many other people going in on the deal, then it makes it viable for the business owner offering the deal and everyone benefits! And it is just one deal, plus a side deal, in your area for each day of the week.
I happen to live in Dallas, but you can see if Groupon is in your local area (currently in 91 cities across America — from Akron to Wichita) and you can get some great deals! You can even sign up for the daily email to be reminded of the deal.

Okay, so while I truly believe this to be a fake movie, this is pretty funny that people went to such great lengths to make a
movie trailer about the 80s video game that people played on floppy disk on pre-windows 95 computers. I remember those days!
The blog says you’ll learn nothing from the video game, and they are close to right… Okay, okay… maybe yo could learn something. I remember learning that when a person get hypothermia that you don’t rub them to make them warm, you just strip them naked and get close for body heat.

Studies have shown that even though it is called the Miss Universe Pageant, that over the past 57 times that the pageant has been held that every single time, Earth’s contestant has won hands down while the rest of the world has not even bothered to bring anything worth showing — literally! … I mean, maybe they did bring something, and they disguised themselves has Miss Rama-lama-ding-dong, who has never made a showing as far as I know!
So, c’mon! —
Earth: Won 57 times.
The rest of the universe: A big fat zero times!
What if in real life people actually acted like life was a musical? You might see something like the video below… People in public places, music coming from no where, singing and dancing together and peace and love comes from the world again through song.

But something interesting I also saw was the two words: “Contains: Milk.” — What? I thought that this was non-dairy creamer? The words Non-Dairy means, without Dairy. And I don’t know if you know this, but Milk is Dairy! … Not that I am lactose-intolerant or anything, but still… c’mon!
If it seems that I am upset about this, I am not really. More than anything I just thought that this was funny and deciding to write a quick blog about it.

Overall, The Office is sumber one in my book. I have seen every single episode and am bummed when it’s not in my queue on Hulu.com.
But a great up and coming show that I have enjoyed seeing blossom and develop is Community. (I was telling my wife about this show, which she has not watched since she watches another show at the same time on CBS — CSI, I think? — so, she hasn’t watched it and gotten into like I have.)
While the plot line of Community works adn has been developing overtime, what really works is the ever developing cast of characters, both growing in numbers, but also in likability and humor. There are some great, and well known actors in this show, like Chevy Chase and lead character Joel McHale, known best as host of E!’s The Soup. Two of the ones that I’ve grown to like are Abed and Troy; their male bonding through “end of the show” quirks just adds so much more to the enjoyment of their relationship as characters on the show. — Abed, played by Danny Pudi, is probably one of the funniest characters on the show and extremely talented in timing and versatility. Would love to meet this guy one day!
To give an example, see the clip below — which overall had very little ties to the rest of the plot of the show, but it still was very very funny! (At least to this comedy critic).
And just one more clip for kicks is this one where, again it had nothing to really do with the plot of the show, but the humor, especially with the eating of the cookies and pretending to be Sesame Street Puppets Bert and Ernie, was great!

For April Fool this year, all people are doing funny April Fool’s joke, like Google “changing it’s name to Topeka,” and youtube.com turning videos in ASCII text (which is pretty ingenious, I think),…
And even GroupOn.com built a small microsite to allow people to buy “elite” items like metal shirt’s with only sleeves and no shirt (pictured to the right) for $6100, faceless watches for $14,500, or Royal crowns for $68,099. this may sound silly, but the site sells it much better than I can explain it.

Even once you click to try and buy some of these ridiculous items, you are prompted to be scanned for coolness to make sure that you are even cool enough to even buy such items. Google’s new name, as of today, April 1st, is now Topeka.
Chosen on this memorial day of *ahem* April Fools, Google has chosen to honor the city of Topeka, Kansas; since this city recently chose to change it’s name to Google, they had to think how to honor that, and they chose to officially change it’s name to Topeka.
Thank you Google for honor the great city of Topeka. Since I honor the company’s commemoration, (and my ego tells me that I want some attention myself), instead of naming my new son Joshua Zavier Armstrong in the next coming months, I wish to honor you by naming him Google Armstrong. My love and adoration go out the company and I wish to further brand the greatness of this company with naming my first born son after this awesome company.
Rock on, Google. Rock on. — And by this I mean the company, not my son. (Sorry, son. I will celebrate you soon enough when you come in May. This is Google’s time to shine for the time being.
